Funerals and Memorial Services
You are welcome to have a Funeral Service or Memorial Service in any of our three parish churches whether or not you come to church. Our village churches are your churches and we welcome you.
Whether you choose to have the service in church or not, Canon Michael is here to assist you and conduct the service at Gloucester or Westerleigh crematoriums.
If your relative or friend has died and you would like the funeral service to take place in one of our three parish churches, please make contact with Canon Michael or a churchwarden. Similarly, if you are intending to hold the service at a local crematorium and live in the parish we are here to help you and to take the funeral service.
St Giles’ and St Bartholomew’s church yards may be used for interments and ashes may be interred in all three churchyards. Please contact Canon Michael or the churchwardens.
On the last Sunday in October we hold a Service of Remembering and Thanksgiving at St Giles’ Church at 6pm. We come together in thanks to God for those we love and light candles to remember them. Invites are sent to the recently bereaved but we welcome everyone to this quiet reflective service.
There is a Book of Remembrance in St Giles’ Church. Please let us know if you would like the name of a loved one entered in the book.
