Fundraising

Throughout the year we carry out a number of fundraising events in aid of church finances and to support a number of charities. This keeps us all very busy, but it is also great fun.

We rely on fundraising to meet our outgoings and charitable giving and have a programme of events which people enjoy.  These include:

  • Second-hand book sales
  • Bluebell Walk and lunch
  • Annual summer fete at St Giles
  • Owlpen coffee mornings
  • Cream teas at Nympsfield during the summer
  • Soup Kitchen lunches at Nympsfield during the winter
  • 'Big Breakfasts', throughout the year
  • St Giles' and St Bartholomew's Christmas Fairs
  • Fundraising concerts

In addition, St Giles Church is a collection point for the Stroud Food Bank, we distribute Children’s Society boxes and are involved each year with the Shoebox Appeal for Operation Christmas Child.

Charities that we regularly support include:
Christian Aid, Church Urban Fund, Water Aid, Tear Fund, Friends of Gloucester Cathedral, The Children's Society, The Door Youth Project Stroud, Operation Christmas Child.
